Maxexam Exam App Accessibility Statement

Introduction

Maxinity (‘Maxinity’, ‘us’, ‘we’, ‘our’) is continuously monitoring its software in accordance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and is committed to enhancing user experience.  This statement outlines the standing of the Maxexam Exam App and does not identify the standing of the Maxexam Website.

Our actions on accessibility are ongoing and will continue to develop with every new version of Maxexam which is released.

Measures in place to support accessibility:

Maxinity takes the following measures to ensure we are doing what we can to improve and recognise user accessibility:

  • Incorporate accessibility within our internal processes.
  • Have appointed an accessibility officer and/or ombudsperson, who listens and acts upon users’ feedback while also advises and ensure that with new changes and implementations to the software, accessibility is at the forefront of the conversation.
  • Provide continual accessibility training for staff.

Conformance Status

Maxexam Exam Apps are reviewed against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).  These guidelines provide requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for the site users and specifically people with disabilities. The levels of conformance are defined by the following: Level A, Level AA, Level AAA.

Maxexam Exam App is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA, meaning there are areas of the level AA guidelines that are not met.

Additional considerations

The Maxexam Exam Apps are platforms to which our clients can upload their own supporting data and, as data processors we neither own their data or any uploaded documentation. Therefore, any uploaded data that does not support the WCAG is the responsibility of the data owners and does not register against this following report.  Additionally, Maxexam enables users to customise their apps so that this fits the branding requirements of their organisation. Though Maxinity advice and recommend colours with accessibility in mind, the final decisions are that of the organisation and thus all branding and styling that is chosen by the organisation falls outside of this evaluation.

Feedback is crucial to developing and enhancing our product and as such we welcome feedback from the site users. If you encounter accessibility barriers within the Exam App, please contact us:

Please note that as the software provider we are only able to communicate directly with the appointed site administrators. However, we will share with them our response to your feedback and inform them of the actions we will be taking.

Compatibility with browsers and assistive technology

It is essential that we are doing all we can to enhance the experience of our content for all users and as such, we ensure that Maxexam Exam App is compatible with:

  • Up-to-date versions of popular screen readers (enabled on request on a per exam per candidate basis);
  • Alternative app navigation.

Technical specifications

The accessibility of Maxexam sites rely on the following technologies to work with the combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:

  • HTML
  • WAI-ARIA
  • CSS
  • JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.

Limitations and Alternatives

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of Maxexam Exam Apps, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.

Known limitations for Maxexam Exam Apps:

  1. Within the Maxexam site, within some post-exam statistics the use of complex tables is incorporated to present data.
  2. Non-text content specific to the assessment purpose of the system. Exam images won’t get alternative text conveying the same meaning as the image not to compromise the assessment.
  3. Reflow – Maxexam app can zoom to 200%
  4. Headings and Labels – within the Maxexam App all headings and labels describe a topic or purpose except for table headers which cannot be defined.

Assessment approach

Maxinity has assessed the accessibility of Maxexam through an internal evaluation.
